This Black-headed Heron (Swartkopreier) passed the camera on 25 Jan 2010 at 7 pm. It is a juvenile bird and does net yet have its adult colours.

Yes, I did notice, and you know why that is? It's because the eye of the bird sees MUCH better when it is at a standstill, unlike other vertebrates. Check out Wikipedia's "bird vision" at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bird_vision
